Halcon The Falcon!

My new resin figurine Halcon the Falcon for the Resin Is King Series 3 blind box project is complete.
The ten piece run has some metallic colors and some cleartint sparkly pearl pieces. Some of the cleartints glow in the dark so check your figure under the light if you happen to snag one. I modeled this new bird figure in a 3D program and printed the prototype on my new 3Dprinter. The character fits right in with my Tuttz cat and Pharaoh Hound universe and was inspired from a image I saw of a falcon statue that was found in King Tut's tomb.
Big huge thanks to Benny Kline of Tenacious Toys and Brian Ahlbeck of Deadhand Toys for inviting me back for another round of resin making fun. Ten of these new figures will be available in a blind box series with 9 other invited resin artists at the Tenacious Toys booth at the New York Comic Con on October 6-9th.

Some of these glow in the dark. Which ones? Hmmm...

Here's a scale pic of Halcon the Falcon with the Sucio mouse resin from the Resin Is King Series 2 project.

Galtow Logo Metal Magnets!

Another New York Comic Con release at booth #404 in The Block this year will be some limited run cold cast 2.5 inch bronze, brass and aluminum metal Galtow logo custom magnets for Xmoor Studios. The magnet prototype was 3D modeled by me and 3D printed in a clear resin on my 3D printer. Galtow is Xmoor Studios flagship indie published comic book that has several issues collected and is now published as a graphic novel.

Spray Can Magnets - New York Comic Con - Booth 404

I have some new projects for the New York Comic Con in October I'd like to share with you. I will be at booth #404 at the Jacob Javits Center on Oct. 6-9th.

The first new release for the comic con are some custom 3.5 inch tall spray can flat back magnet resins that will come with glitter, confetti, glow in the dark versions and all will have a strong magnetic strip attached to their backs. To compliment the series there will also be some limited blank white versions and few cleartints. The various spray cans will be available at the New York Comic con at my booth but it's not a exclusive item so check the Argonaut Resins online store during the show if you can't make it to the comic con.

Why spray cans?  This past year I've seen dozens of images online of mural artists painting up all sorts of walls around the world but what struck my eye was huge amount of used uncapped spray cans that littered the scene. It just looked so surreal, so many cans, so many many colors and to think this spray can invention was created to hold and release almost any color at a masterful artists discretion just locked up my mind. I figured I'd create my own mini can in a 3D modeling program, 3D print it as a flat back magnet and cast it up in all sorts of crazy fun colors...almost magical. Last year my self indulgent resin project was the Piragua a icie treat from my childhood in Spanish Harlem, this year it's the spray can.

Spray Cans!!!

I'll have a few new resin pieces popping up soon in the form of small realistic spray cans for a possible early release and a New York Comic Con Oct. 6th - 9th booth drop. There will be two prototypes styles made at 3.5 inches tall, a flat magnet version and a full on solid can. These designs are modeled by me in the computer and printed on my new 3D printer. Look for blanks and all types of crazy resin castings all the way to comic con in October.

You may even see some very limited surprise variants based on a well known cat character seen around these parts.
So stay tuned!
