You never know who will swing by the studio these days and throw down on a art project...nope...but I do. Who better than my old animation pal Robbie Busch (aka DJ McBoing Boing) to swing thru and go at some customs...8 inch Tuttz customs...I figured it would be great to give these guys a test run with Robbie B. and if you keep an eye on this post I will keep adding photos of just exactly what Robbie is up to. I will say these newbies are called - Hell Cats...

Starting tomorrow I will be dropping some all new Tuttz Mini colorways in the ONLINE STORE at any given time all the way up to Valentine's Day! I guess you can get an idea of what some of the colors will be like by the packaging below. Who knows what will show up and you know me - there will be the occasional surprise or two (or three!) Finally made some more progress on the gallery/showroom/store that we are making right inside the bigger new production studio....The green half is for Obed Board Bags who will be splitting the whole set up with me. We're going for whimsical and exciting!

We hope to be up and running soon with all sorts exciting functions and fun art parties. It's all coming together - slowly but surely.

This exclusive 5 piece Holiday Custom release will be in collaboration with artist Robbie Busch (aka McBoing Boing) featuring custom work on my 8 inch resin Pharaoh Hounds. The Hell Hounds will be a five piece run with 3 RedHots ($150 each plus shipping), 1 blue chase Hell Freeze Over ($175 plus shipping) and a uber clear tint Red Hot chase ($200 plus shipping) and will come with a acrylic painting on the cover of each box by Robbie.

Also included in this release will be two 6 inch metallic tone EL DIABLO resins ($200 each plus shipping) complete with a signed Certificate of Authenticity (by Robbie and myself) each with a mini original 4 x 4 inch acrylic gouache canvass painting and custom hand painted box for those who may have missed out on the other sold out versions. There will also be a group of original art pieces painted up by Robbie Busch with acrylic gouache on 4"x4" inch canvasses going for $50 each plus shipping.

Robbie Busch Holiday Hell Hounds Project...UPDATED

Me and Robbie Busch go way back, and I mean waaay back. We used to work in the animation trenches over at Curious Pictures back in the day, Robbie banging out storyboards and me inking cells - all day long. So it's always a pleasure when he shows up to throw down on some resin projects be it his own sold out EL DIABLO line or some Tuttz customs. This time around he's tinkering with the Pharaoh Hound and is up to something hellish...and of course where's the fun unless we let everybody in on the project as he tinkers away with some in progress shots! First up - we some color layout and tape masking....

Then we start to see some color build up...with guess who manning the airbrush station??? Where might this project be going? I'll give you a hint - Hell Hound! Stay tuned as I'll drop more images as we go...Part 2 next.

Part 2!!! How about some more color? There are 5 Hounds in this series and 2 are chases...

Part 3!!! Almost finished and the 2 chases in progress...

What am I thankful for...? Family, friends and ART!!! Wishing everyone a great Holiday, eat well and have fun.
On another note - how about a Tuttz Glyos project update? The first part of the project I'm doing with Onell Designs is complete and awaiting header art so it can be packaged up for sale! Victor Durango (aka SoundWave 810) has completed the paint work on the Tuttz Glyos and is whipping up that header art as we speak. I've seen the black and white layout and have to say it looks fantastic and we can't wait to show it all off. Featured below is the Tuttz Glyos Bad Luck Squadron and the all white Jump Squad with the actual Jump Gate in stealth mode. The Kings Of Atlantis Glyos are nearing completion and I'll post those next with the last surprise and then we'll be off to the races!

Vlad is back!

I recently reteamed with Jared Deal to release a new modified resin Vladimir figure. We released the first Vlad version 3 years ago on Halloween and the entire wave of 26 pieces sold out. That Vlad was wearing a suit and to help celebrate Argonaut Resins 3 year anniversary the new Vlad is wearing a tuxedo!!! This new Vlad Montana Edition will be releasing on Friday, Nov. 11th and there will only be a few of this particular colorway.

I'll give you one guess why it's called the "Montana" Edition...haha!

Just wanted to send out a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came by the Big Kev's GeekStuff booth on Saturday and Sunday this past weekend at comic con and waited patiently on line. I had a great time meeting you all and I hope all the craziness was worth it. Also want drop off a big thanks to Rich Page of UmeToys for coming to town and throwing down. Dynamic Duo!

Okay! Here we go...It's time to start posting about what I will have at the New York Comic Con Oct. 13- 16th at the Big Kev GeekStuff booth # E7. I will be there Saturday and Sunday from 2 - 5PM sharing the table with The Jelly Empire. Unfortunately Selina Briggs won't be in attendance due to some unforeseen circumstances but we are working on a way to video conference her in and we will have Pete Michaud stand in for her at the booth. So...what have I got for you? How about the chases for the Tuttz and Jellybot crossover sets!!! Selina and I are doing 12 sets and what you see below are the 3 Dynamic Duo chase figure sets painted by Selina exclusively for the con. The other nine sets will be mostly clear tints with another chase suprise I will reveal later. The regular sets will go for $40 each and the uber custom chases will go for $50 per set.

Stay tuned because I have a lot more updates for the NYC con on the way. Notice the Argo banner up top? What's that all about??? Watch that too for even more goodies...

More action figures...?

I've always loved action figures since I was a child and having a chance to actually make them early on in my pro sculpting career was a blessing. At one point I didn't want to sculpt them anymore due to the mainstream lines that were coming out became over saturated (and still are...) and I have to say - the plug and play Glyos figures produced by Matt Doughty and his crew have sparked things back up for me in a big way. Being able to add my spin on Matt's figures has been big fun and I've become a huge fan of the Glyos lines. Thanks Matt!!!

So...here are some newer teaser images of the second half of the Glyos Tuttz project I'm collaborating on with M att Doughty of Onell Design. This second part of the project will feature the return of the Kings Of Atlantis in Glyos form action figures! Ha! You thought the Kings of Atlantis were all done and gone right? Not so fast...I've resculpted the infamous crystal skull head theme to fit onto the Glyos action figure bodies! I will also finally reveal all of the Kings powers with this release. As with the Tuttz Glyos we teased earlier the talented Victor Durango will be handling the paint work. As we near completion on this project everything will be fully revealed by Matt Doughty with all images of assortments and pricing.

You probably wouldn't have thought the Kings could share the same timeline with the Tuttz but the do now. What's all this about a war? Big fight? Everybody loves a big fight so I'll tell you the story...Once upon a time...

The Tuttz are looking for a ancient relic that was taken from their home world a very long time ago. They have finally found the location of a world they believe to hold their relic but it is inhabited by a race of beings older and more powerful than them. The Kings of Atlantis have settled on this hidden planet for thousands of years after plundering many galaxies of their riches. Everyone who has come to the Kings of Atlantis's planet in search of the Universes greatest treasures have all perished. The Tuttz Bad Luck Squadron will have their might tested trying to recover their ancient relic on this hostile world hidden deep within the outer regions of space....

My good friends Matt and Big Kev over at Big Kev's GeekStuff had all of their show recording equipment stolen recently and have called on the art community to help raise up some cash by auctioning off some works of art. Argonaut Resins is moving! I'm currently in the process of prepping a new location for the current studio and it's in a much bigger and better looking space this month.

On another note - how about a little NYC con project update too? Looks like there will be some turquoise colored resins at the NYC con....I have a few more other colors painted up I'll post up later in the week if I don't get too busy.

I'm also moving along on the EL DIABLO Mini sculpt - detailing up next!

Onyx and Pearl...

I finally got around to casting and painting up a few of the all new 8 inch Pharaoh Hounds with the first two colorways - Onyx and Pearl white with some gold trim. I thought it would be cool to make a set of matching Tuttz to go with them. I will have more colorways popping up in the next few weeks before the big NYC con in Oct. so keep and on the blog for updates.

And on another note - here's a updated pic of Robbie Busch's EL DIABLO mini I'm working on now in the wax stage. Details will be roughed in next!

El Diablo mini...? Vlad's back?

Yup, that is correct! How about another secret project reveal and a surprise on top of that!
Well, more like a teaser to be honest. I've reteamed with the incredibly talented Robbie Busch for another round of EL DIABLO resin figure madness. We had a lot of success with Robbie's EL DIABLO resin not too long ago and now we're back with a all new figure in progress and it's a - MINI!!! This new little guy will top off at 3.5 inches and we're hoping to have him ready for the big New York Comic con in Oct. this year (fingers crossed!)...

And while we're at it how about another round of "How We Do It" - sculpting the resin toy - with some behind the scenes work in progress pics of the EL DIABLO Mini.

Oh - before I forget...did I mention the Jared Deal's Vladimir happy bat resin (pictured below is the old version) will be showing up at the NYC con as well? How about a slightly different version than the first release? Return of the Mac...watch for it!

My apologies for the lack of posts lately as things have been a tad hectic with the big New York Comic Con on it's way. I've also been trying to relocate the studio to a bigger space because I've run out of room with all the current projects in the works. The good news is my Tuttz character has crossed over with Onell Designs Glyos system. A good friend of mine (and uber toy guru) Rob Losito introduced me to master toy maker Matt Doughty at last years NYC con and suggested we work together on something Glyos related. I fell in love with the popular little articulated mix and match Glyos figures that Matt produced and wanted to get in on the action. Rob suggested the mini Tuttz would be a really cool crossover project and Matt was gracious enough to bless us on this endeavor and send over some Glyos parts to get the project under way. Seeing that this project was going to be a ton of work I brought in Victor Durango to help get the body styles right and do all the intricate paintwork. I also brought in The One Cam and When Giants Meet to do the dynamic and exciting photography. What you see below is just the tip of the iceberg on what we have planned for this Tuttz Glyos project called the Bad Luck Squadron so stay tuned! Tough black cats that get sent on the most dangerous missions and always come back! Bad luck for whomever runs into them...

This is the companion piece to the popular Tuttz resin that has been selling out all over. I dropped off some more new regular sized Tuttz resins at Sedona Boutique in Hoboken. The latest batch features the new Pearl white render I'll be making exclusively for their store. The yellow, blue and pink clear tints have a metallic pearl haze render on them. The purple is a regular straight up clear tint and is a darker version than the one that was released in Sedona's first wave.

Tuttz Mini's Series 4 is next...then the Pharaoh Hound will make it's dedut.

I just restocked the brand spanking new Sedona's Boutique in Hoboken with some regular sized Tuttz and some Mini's. The boutique is up and running and the new location is 201 Washington Street in Hoboken NJ (in my home town). Below is the first wave of goodies at the new location right now and I will try my best to keep some resins there on a regular basis. I'm still cranking away! Sorry for the lack of updates as I have other projects I can't really talk about other than Argo that I have in progress at the moment. The Pharaoh Hound has been delayed because of this but fear not - I have some regular sized Tuttz in progress and more JellyBots too. The Jelly Empire has some super big things coming up so stay tuned in the next few weeks as we build up the promotion for all of that. Series 3 Tuttz Mini's have almost sold out and I only have 2 more left of those to finish up and drop in the online store. Here's a little bit of what's coming up -

On another note - the Sedona Boutique (in my home Town of Hoboken NJ) where I sell some of the Tuttz at is moving to a bigger space (as we speak) and the owner Phil and his wife Daisy have offered me a small shelf in the new store to always keep some of my resins on. I'm very excited about this and am doing my best to get some new pieces ready for the day they'll have the store warming (you know like a house warming with wine and all that, yup!). They just put up a brand new awning so I have to go back over and take new pics as the new store is almost complete. The pics below are of the store in progress earlier this week.

As I get the final info on the new store opening and new address I will post everything here for those who want to swing by for the opening.

I normally would hide the GOLDEN TICKET in the box of the lucky buyer buuuuut since there was no blind boxing this time with the Tuttz Mini's Series 3 I just picked a color I liked in this round. I thought it would be cool to do a metallic set this time around with a little extra rendering so they would be different from any other metallics I made in the same color. Starting next week I will be posting the new wave of little Tuttz cats in the online store at random - they will not be blind boxed and will drop one at a time at various days and hours AND there will be some surprises mixed in. Yeah I know - here we go again...He's late yet again! Well I've been very busy, super busy. I wanted to make more stuff for Toy Street but this batch of goodies will have to do. Okay let's see - we have some Tuttz Mini's Series 2 (Only 21 pieces since 4 advance pieces sold at MOCCA).

Then we have some collabo Toy Street Exclusives I'm doing with The Jelly Empire. This time we have 8 sets of matching cats and bots with some glow in the dark pieces and some Kings Of Atlantis Talisman skull Magnets added in 3 of the sets for FREE! There's even a GID WereWolf Jelly Bot in one of the sets. We went overboard...so what?

I'll be at Toy Street in NYC this coming Friday Aprill 22nd sharing a table with Selina Briggs of The Jelly Empire. I'll have all the rest of the Tuttz Mini's Series 2 cat resin figurines there along with some special collabo Jelly Bot match ups similar to what we had at the MOCCA Festival last weekend.

El Diablo is back!

Well kinda sorta...Robbie Busch has a solo art show coming up this Friday in Brooklyn and wanted to make a new mold of his El Diablo resin figurine to make some uber special runs. Check out how it went down - First I whipped some all new castings. This time I brought in Victor Durango (aka Soundwave810) that I'm training to help me out with some of the tooling and sorts of other shop tasks at Argo. Kid is catching on fast and can paint like a mofo! Thanks Vic!!! Then I ground off the clunky foot spouts in the sealed up grindbox (I'm allergic to the resin so it has to be contained as much as possible when ground up). Thought I was just working on cats?...heh...

Then the Diablo's are primed up in black spray primer. I don't use the el cheapo stuff - you get what you pay for (so true).

Then it's off to my trusty makeshift airbrush spray booths (ala cardboard box - cut just right!) Being able to spin the resins on the "Lazy Susan" makes it easier to paint quickly. I have no idea why they call it that so - just click the link...

Since I knew this particular paint we were going to use rather well - Robbie B. let me get my airbrushing extravaganza on. Heh, let me tell you, if I missed a spot Robbie told me about it, LOL.

The end result - is one happy artist camper with all new goodies for his show ON TIME!!! We did four really nice metallic rendered figures for Robbie's solo art show this Friday. Wanna go? I've teamed up with Selina Briggs of The Jelly Empire and her army of Jelly Bot mini resin figurines will be debuting at this years MOCCA festival on April 9th and 10th in NYC. She will have all sorts of Jelly Empire prints, Tshirts, bags, buttons and postcards featuring her art at the show. ***UPDATED*** Selina will be at table # L23***

We will reveal all of the mini Jelly Bot resins in the next few days and there will be GID's (glow in the dark), clear tints, solids, jades, magnetic versions, key chains and a few exclusive painted versions by Selina herself with custom hand made packaging.

There will also be a few surprises included in the lineup BUT you'll have to come to the MOCCA festival to see what that will be. The edition size for the first wave of resin Jelly Bot mini's is estimated at 25 - 30 pieces at the moment.

In case you missed the ToysRevil post with the updated shot of the Pharaoh Hound in progress (I've actually taken him a bit further since this shot and will post that soon).

I've also been going back and forth with Robert Garrett (Xmoor Studios) on the development of the all new Tuttz illustrated book. Been working on some first stage character design sketches at the moment for all the key players in the Tuttz book. Here's a sneak peek at the growing manual with the story theme phrase and a new colorway of Tuttz that will be an special exclusive down the road - called "EnTombed". We're also still looking over artist portfolio submissions to do the interior illustrations for the book at this time.

As the Tuttz Mini release gets closer I thought I'd drop a little update on what will be in the Series 1 line up. I'm trying to add something from all the previous larger Tuttz releases to make the first series fun to collect. I have to admit I get a little jealous when I see collectors with more Tuttz resins in their collection than I have. I will do my best to make this year even more fun than last year with more Tuttz and some exciting new characters that will join him shortly. Here's another teaser for the Tuttz Mini's I'm working on to give everyone some ideas of what to expect in the Series 1 wave of 25 pieces. What to expect...? Everything. I'm also giving a few of the Minis away as gifts to select people who are on my THANK YOU list, and those I wish let know about Tuttz and bring them into his world. These will not be part of the Series 1 wave and are totally separate from that release. The release will be moved back to next week (sorry) so I can do some extra magic on the wave and get it exactly how I want (I keep changing my mind, hey, that happens). When the option of "any possible color way" presents itself it's really easy to get carried away - just because the Mini Tuttz are much smaller than the regular Tuttz they are not any easier to produce. So hang tight - it's going to be some big FUN!!!

Pharaoh Hound...?

I debuted the Pharaoh Hound rough sculpt at Toy Fair as part of my live sculpting demo of working in toy wax. He'll be a companion piece for the regular sized Tuttz figurine and stands at eight inches in height. There will also be a different third figure (?) to round out the line that will tie into a illustrated book based on Tuttz I'm developing with Robert Garrett (my indie publishing biz partner from Xmoor Studios). The hound will look a bit different when completed and I will post those images when he's done.

I'll have some Argonaut Resins figurines and will be debuting the new 3.5 inch Mini Tuttz along with a few other surprises that I'll have in progress. True story...about Phase 2.

I have big plans this year on expanding Argonaut Resins and producing more projects and lose lots of sleep on exactly how I'm going to do that. I had planned to get the Tuttz resin cat figure digitally scanned and make a computer CG file so I could scale it up to any size I wanted (it would be nice to have a 2 - 3 footer at the upcoming shows this year). To make a long story short - I ran into my good friend Steve Talkowski (creator of the uber cool SketchBot vinyl toy robot - CG grandmaster etraordinaire) at an art show and I had told him my plans of expansion. Steve offered to rebuild the Tuttz from scratch in CG so I wouldn't have to scan it and clean up the file to make my life easier. Of course I accepted his gracious offer as this would give me more time to work on new stuff (and finish projects other projects). I now have the ability to scale the Tuttz resin cat up to ANY size I want and will do a post here soon on how the output was done after Toy Fair this upcoming weekend. So now I have Phase 2 of Argonaut Resins under way starting with this little guy below - look familiar...?

Wave 2 Red Tuttz release date!

The last wave of the ToysRevil Exclusive Red Tuttz have arrived and are ready for launch! I thought it would be nice to add some glow in the dark pieces (GID's) in this round along with a rendered TRE logo inspired color scheme fully rendered custom figure so you get a 3 chase bonus. Hey Tuttz fans this one's for you!!!
The second Obed and Argonaut Resins project is now complete and now available to own in the online store! Terrence O'Neal of Obed Board Bags whipped these custom bad boys up from scratch and they're 17.5 inches tall by 14 inches wide made with waterproof ripstop black nylon and they come in two different styles. Each bag comes with a sewn in Obed custom label of authenticity.

As promised...What people don't know is Terrence O'Neal of Obed Board Bags is like a damn whip...we start talking about things, crazy ideas, collabos and such and he goes home and MAKES STUFF THE SAME NIGHT!!! Now that's some scary ass hardcore production...I can relate to artists like that. Hatching schemes and executing them on the fly - in a flash...So, think you know what we making from scratch over here...? This was the first project collabo (for the ladies) we did here...and yes we heard all those "Murse" jokes...(male purse, very funny Mr. Jeremy Brautman)...

The first part of the full reveal is next...we'll be rounding up some models and doing a photo shoot for the second part of the reveal...Any beginner models out there (local to NYC and NJ please) wanna give us a hand maybe? Email me.

The New Years Tuttz release and LCKM@

Wonder what's taking the first wave of New Years Tuttz so long to be revealed with a drop date? I was contacted by Stephen Benzel of Leukemia Can Kiss My @ss organization and was asked if I would make a special Tuttz where some of the proceeds will go to help fight cancer. I had already decided this year I would start doing more charity work and thought this would be a great start for Argonaut Resins. There will be 15 New Years Tuttz (just like the Xmas Tuttz) and they will be released in 3 waves and #1 of the 15 will be the light blue metallic clear tint chase shown below. It will be available in the online store soon with the other 5 New Years Tuttz of wave 1. Full reveals and drop date coming up!
